It incorporates mostly crustaceans from Portugal and Portuguese-speaking African countries, namely Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Guinea. There are also specimens from other places in Africa and Europe. The collection results from after the fire campaigns, from research and donations. The donations allowed the integration of specimens captured previously to 1978.
